I was going to make this child’s chair for the show but my granddaughter asked if she could have it. Its been finished for a week and

she still hasn’t sat it, so maybe it will be in the show. The other piece is a tray, great find. The form is interesting but it was boring so

so I had to take it up a couple of notches. I enjoyed this piece more than the chairs, probably because I did some collage and I just

kept adding on layers. The paper inside is lokta paper and the paper on the outside is embossed paper. I thought if this embossed

paper was painted it would give a look of texture that was subtle but interesting.

 

It has pink rhinestones for chair plugs

Tari Brand and I are having a show this fall to preview and offer for sale furniture and objects that have been redone or upcycled as the  term goes. This is my first finished piece. Although, I made a chair with a similar feeling for my granddaughter. I struggled with this piece because of the potentialness of some one else wanting it. I recognize the insecurity of product production and how I need to grow in this area. Now that is not in my face and I look at the photos I like it more and my irritation is subsiding. What a funny life this creative stuff presents.  I realized that continue to upholster I need to look at a pneumatic  staple gun.
