May 2011, has been great fun with planting my first garden. The inspiration came from an interesting book series “The Ringing Cedars” by Vladimir Megre and the thought of creating in spirit of peace and creating spaces of love, this is my first “Peace Garden” and my hope is that it will flourish an all levels. Raised bed and container configurations allowed for it come to a reality faster than digging up compacted clay dirt with a jack hammer. I planted squash, watermelon, cucumber, eggplant, bell pepper, beans, 3 types of tomatoes, chives, basil, sage, oregano, thyme and cat grass. I bought a few plants and the rest seeds, everything has sprouted up and seems doing well. Here are some before and after shots.

After planting and cleaning up the whole area.

I have brought to this area some others potted plants, a small table with two chairs and an umbrella. It creates a wonder serene spot. I go out there every morning to see what has happened over night. I am amazed and delighted every morning. I am also surprised at the joy this little garden has brought me.

Making peace with my world.
